The Knights maintained their four game loss streak Tuesday in a 52-47 loss to crosstown rivals, the Northgate Broncos.
The Knights started slow with a 9-0 run by Northgate, which was ended with a layup by freshman guard Isabela De La Cruz and a three-pointer by freshman Kaya Toor, diminishing the lead to 9-5. The 1st quarter was then followed by back-to-back baskets by both teams and ended with a score of 16-10, with Northgate in the lead. The Knights started the 2nd quarter strong with two straight 3s by senior Isabella Thomson and another three by De La Cruz. However, the game was briefly stopped when De La Cruz had to sit out with a minor injury. The 2nd quarter ended with a three by Toor, making the score 31-26 with Northgate still in the lead. The 2nd half started with a floater and three by De La Cruz. After a 3rd quarter scoring battle with three consecutive 3s (two by De La Cruz and one by sophomore Rose Morse) the quarter ended with Northgate leading by 11 at 48-37. In the 4th quarter, the Knight’s offense exploded and managed to get the lead down to a three- point game with one minute one the clock. The Knights were not able to close out the game as Northgate pulled away. The Knight’s next home games are against Campolindo and Acalanes on February 5th and 8th, respectively, at 7 pm.
