The Knights were down in the first quarter, but with much hard work and grit the Las Lomas Knights ended up taking down Cardinal Newman. Going into the game, Cardinal Newman had a record of 22 wins and 5 losses, while Las Lomas had a record of 11 wins and 15 losses. The Knights beating Cardinal Newman was a large upset in the bracket. All teams in NCS will battle to the end and try to win the state championship.
Now the Knights look ahead to a matchup with Tamalpais on February 15, where they hope to remain in NCS. Tamalpais has a record of 15 wins and 12 losses. This means, in order for Las Lomas to stay in the playoffs, they must try to pull off another upset on the road. The Knights might not have had the season that they wanted, but with the same perseverance they showed in against Cardinal Newman they have a good chance at winning the game.
