There are many different types of workout routines you can do. Working out isn’t just lifting weights and running or doing push ups and sit ups. There’s a lot more to it than just simply working out. There are steps and stages to this. There are levels. A lot of people think that you need to go to a gym to workout, but that’s not the case. Personally, I don’t have a gym membership, but I used to, and I don’t need to find a gym because having a gym membership isn’t necessary. I’ve been working out for a long time and therefore, I have more knowledge and experience when it comes to knowing how to properly do it.
I will share one of my routines that I often do on my own. I don’t like to focus on a specific muscle group when I workout, I like to get the whole body activated, and you can do that with this workout.
- 4 miles
- Bleacher sprints (5 minutes)
- Single leg bleacher hops (5 minutes)
- Jump rope (5 minutes each leg)
- 30 pull-ups
- 20 leg raises
- 20 knee raises
- 25 push-ups after finishing each exercise (200 push-ups total)
When doing these workouts, I make sure to hydrate. The weather really affects how much water I drink. For example if it’s really hot, I will drink a lot more water than if there was typical or cold weather.
To certain people, working out is fun, and to others it’s not so great. If I have free time, no matter what the circumstance is, I do not turn down going to work out or put up shots for basketball. Even putting up shots for me is a work out because I’m putting a toll on my body.
Working out is not easy. There have been days where I didn’t want to get up and hit the gym, and there have been times where I just don’t even want to think about working out. But without it, I wouldn’t be who or where I am today. It’s a very important part of my life. It keeps my health in check, mentally and physically, and it is important for everyone to have their own workout routine. Daily exercise helps a lot. If you’ve never worked out before, getting a gym membership would be a great way to start. Here in Walnut Creek, there are plenty of gyms. Some gyms out here that you could go to are 24 Hour Fitness, Club Sport, Forma Gym, Fitness 19, and much more. If you aren’t physically active, don’t wait. Join one of these gyms fast.
