With the winter season coming to an end, spring is right around the corner. Prom season is sneaking up on us. Prom here at Las Lomas is for the Junior Class only, but all other classes are more than welcome, as long as they are accompanied by a Junior.
I had the chance to get some general information from ASB Junior Class President, Emma Casey, and what she expects of this prom. She says, “we are really excited about our venue, Casa Real. It’s in Livermore, overlooking the Ruby Hill Winery.” Ruby Hill is definitely a beautiful community, and the winery there is amazing. The theme for this year’s prom will be A Starry Night and goes perfectly with the whole purpose of prom. Prom is supposed to be a ‘magical’ night with plenty of fun and great memories. There are a lot of people that want to show up to prom looking their best. Like those people, I would also like to show myself off and come to prom looking great. There’s a saying: “when you look good, you feel good” and that’s exactly how everyone should feel at prom.
Of course there is a cost for tickets, just like any other special event. For each person, tickets will be $100, including dinner and transportation. Tickets are available to purchase, along with permission slips and table requests for the dining portion, on the Junior Class Web Page or in the office. All paperwork is going to be collected in the theater lobby here at Las Lomas on March 18, 20, 25, and 27.
Senior Ball will be a little different than prom. Senior Ball will be taking place on Saturday, May 18th, at the San Francisco City Club, but there will be no theme. “The San Francisco City Club is Art Deco themed so think along the lines of Great Gatsby,” says ASB Senior Class President Miles Robinson. He also let me know that the only difference between Prom and Ball this year is that at Senior Ball the students will be able to get their own transportation.
Prom and Ball this year should both be very exciting. With the way that both Miles and Emma spoke of these events, I am definitely convinced that both nights should be one for the books. I expect nothing less than a good time, and I am sure everyone else is too. Let’s just hope that the turnout for Prom and Ball are as good as expected!
