On Tuesday the Knights varsity baseball team started their league games, playing a subpar Ygnacio Valley with a score of 21-3. The knights entered the game with a 12-0 record and looked to improve to 13-0. The first two innings started slow with a score of 1-0, but the Knights went on to score an impressive 9 runs in the 3rd inning more than all the runs they scored in their previous game. The Knights controlled the game for all 7 innings collectively averaging .526 with a total of 20 hits. The Knights were able to dominate on all sides, they had 5 steals out of 5 steal attempts and only allowed 6 hits pitching.
The Knights will look to get the Diablo-Valley League title this year. The other schools besides Ygnacio Valley are: Concord, Miramonte, Berean Christian and Alhambra. Only Berean Christian and Alhambra have records with a winning percentage of over .500 with records of 9-3 and 7-5 respectively. The Knights have been consistently ranked one of the best teams in all of California and NCS so they are expected to cruise past them with ease.
