As the winter sports season is winding down, many sports such as baseball and boys’ tennis are beginning. Numerous athletes have been waiting all school year to play these sports. However, there are some athletes who have finished their main sports, and are already looking to get into shape for next year.
If you are among these athletes, track and field would be a great way to stay in shape over the off-season. You can build up your endurance by running long-distance, or increase your speed through short-distance. The other events offered can also help you increase athletic skill or coordination.
“Track is great,” said junior Ethan Clymer, “It’s a great way to spend time with friends outside of track and meet new people.”
“Track is definitely a great way to keep in shape,” answered Grant Askins, “Whether you play a sport or not, it’s pretty important to stay in shape, and running is always a good way to do so. The coaches also give you advice to keep your body healthy.”
Whether you’re looking for a way to stay in shape or just an activity to occupy your time after school, track and field is a great choice.
