The Coivd-19 outbreak has brought our country to a screeching halt. Retail stores, schools, and business everywhere have been closed down. Amongst all these major sports leagues such as the National Hockey League (NHL), and Major League Baseball (MLB) have suspended their seasons or postponed their seasons, none of which has been so big as the National Basketball Association suspending their season after players began to test positive for Coivd-19.
“It’s a bummer the season is about to end and playoffs are gonna start soon,” said Freshman Khalil Grant. “I understand it’s for the players and fans’ safety but I wish someone would find a solution for this” The season had only a few weeks left and many questions about the NBA season will remain unanswered. Freshman Jack Halpin went even so far to compare it to “watching a movie but not knowing the last 30 minutes when everything is wrapped up and we know the ending” this remains true as coming into the season many experts declared the upcoming season as potentially one of the best ever
The suspension of the season put many storylines on pause. In the middle of an MVP race between Los Angeles superstar Lebron James and young Milwakue Bucks phenom Giannis Antetokounmpo, In addition to this an ultra young New Orleans Pelicans will have to wait to find out if their efforts were enough to be considered one of the best 8 teams in the Western Conference and make the playoffs.
Either way fans of the NBA are cautiously waiting for the season to resume, while others are waiting for any sport to resume.
