How Tik Tok is Portraying the Virus
With so much time on our hands, many people have come to the point of downloading and using on the social media app, Tik Tok. Whether you used it before quarantine, or if you downloaded it out of boredom once quarantine started , you have most likely been on the app at least once today. Many posts are now about coronavirus and how most of America has been ordered to shelter-in-place. With no real human contact, many people have posted funny videos about how we aren’t able to see others. Most are along the lines of high school students losing some of their best years and reminiscing through their old memories due to this pandemic. People have seemed to be using this outlet as a sort of coping mechanism, where they make funny videos or ones just talking about how they feel and how COVID-19 has affected them and their surroundings. Along with those videos, many people are trying to give out advice on things such as: what to do when you are bored, how to stay safe, and how long to wash your hands for. Additionally, there are some videos of people trying to give others hope for the world becoming normal once again; they say to hold on to what we had before the whole thing began and know that once this is all over, you are going to be able to go out with people again. They say that once you get to see your friends and other loved ones, who made your life so amazing, and get to hug them and surround yourself with those people again, it is going to be the best feeling ever.
