The 63rd annual Grammys is scheduled to take place on March 14th. The biggest night in music will be hosted by Trevor Noah, and will feature nominees such as Doja Cat, Megan Thee Stallion, Dua Lipa, Taylor Swift, and BTS. Artists like The Weeknd were snubbed, while Beyoncé was nominated despite not having released an album this year. Deciding the winners of the four major categories will come down to impact, popularity, and ratings.

The first major category is Record of the Year. Nominees include: ‘Black Parade’ – Beyoncé, ‘Colors’ – Black Pumas, ‘Rockstar’ – DaBaby Featuring Roddy Rich , ‘Say So’ – Doja Cat , ‘Everything I Wanted’ – Billie Eilish , ‘Don’t Start Now’ – Dua Lipa , ‘Circles’ – Post Malone , and ‘Savage’ – Megan Thee Stallion Featuring Beyoncé. I predict the winner to be ‘Say So’ – Doja Cat, as her album Hot Pink has been one of the biggest this year and she is a new artist. New Artists are something the Grammys seem to favor, like Billie Eilish who swept the Grammys in 2020, with five awards.

The second category is Album of the Year. Nominees include: Chilombo – Jhené Aiko, Black Pumas (Deluxe Edition) – Black Pumas, Everyday Life – Coldplay, Djesse Vol.3 – Jacob Collier, Women In Music Pt. III – HAIM, Future Nostalgia – Dua Lipa, Hollywood’s Bleeding – Post Malone, and Folklore – Taylor Swift. I predict that the winner for Album of the Year will be Future Nostalgia – Dua Lipa. This album has gotten great ratings, and is by far the best album from this list. It has no bad songs, and is popular because of its upbeat, disco/pop style. Entertainment Weekly said, “Lipa quickly established herself as one of pop’s most compelling presences during her quick rise, and Future Nostalgia shows that she’s going to be sticking around its upper echelons for a while.”

The next category is Song of the Year. The nominees are: ‘Black Parade’ – Beyoncé’, ‘The Box’ – Roddy Rich, ‘Cardigan’ – Taylor Swift, ‘Circles’ – Post Malone, ‘Don’t Start Now’ – Dua Lipa, ‘Everything I Wanted’ – Billie Eilish, ‘I Can’t Breathe’ – H.E.R, ‘If The World Was Ending’ – JP Saxe Featuring Julia Michaels. I believe the winner will be ‘Everything I Wanted’ – Billie Eilish. Billie Eilish is one of the most popular artists currently. After sweeping the Grammys with 5 awards in 2020, she is highly anticipated this year. The Grammys will definitely be giving Billie at least one award.
The last category is Best New Artist. The nominees are: Ingrid Andress, Phoebe Bridgers, Chika, Noah Cyrus, D Smoke, Doja Cat, Kaytranada, Megan Thee Stallion. The winner will be Doja Cat. With her hit song ‘Say So’, and viral fame throughout 2020, she will be the winner. Doja Cat’s recent album, Hot Pink is full of creative wordplay, and versatility.
