// College Admissions can be overwhelming. It is something that many seniors can relate to. From the pressure of choosing the right school, preparing for exams, writing essays, to waiting for acceptance letters can definitely cause a lot of distress. The process can be described as a rollercoaster, filled with stress, excitement, yes’s and no’s, as well as so many opportunities. For seniors it is a time when they can find where they feel they best belong and see where their next chapter is going to take them.

One of the first things you do when applying to college is researching where to apply. Seniors go on a search to find the places that are aligned with their interests, values and goals. Colleges have a wide variety of interests that students look for, for instance sports, Greek life and specific academic programs. But for senior Charlie Kruger his list was simple: he is just looking for “good football and good academics,” Kruger said. Some lists are long while others only look for one or two things in a school.

When interviewing Kruger about how he dealt with college admissions he said “The best way for me to overcome stress would be to step away and calm down before continuing.” From browsing college websites and googling pictures of campuses, to visiting schools and doing tours in person and online, students are discovering certain colleges that resonate with them.

The college admissions journey is not just about getting into an Ivy League or prestigious organization; it is an experience that will help them discover their passions, strengths, and resilience. This journey is a complex and emotional time, filled with highs and lows. Whether accepted or rejected, the lessons learned throughout this process will help shape students for their future efforts
