Are you tired of buying basic generic consumer goods from public corporations that take your money? This holiday season visit these local holiday fairs to support local artists and find handmade gifts and more for loved ones.
One of the many holiday fairs in the bay area is Head West Marketplace. This is a holiday fair on N. Main Street, Walnut Creek. Anyone can attend this fair. It is kid and pet friendly. Parking is free and it is recommended to bike or scooter. This event is Dec. 15, and Dec. 17, from 11 a.m – 4 p.m. This fair offers a collection of culture, award-winning shopping, hotels, sports facilities and cuisine. It is an opportunity to connect the Bay Area community and support local stores.
Handmade Holiday Crafts Fair is another fair happening this year Dec. 7, to Dec. 8, 10 a.m – 4 p.m at Finley Community Complex, 2060 West College Ave. Santa Rosa. This fair is open to anyone with an entry fee of $5 per person, with an exception that anyone under the age of 12 is free, pets are not permitted. Parking is free and is recommended to use the main parking lot unless full where it is advised to park at the entrance to Finley Park. This fair offers handmade crafts, Jewelry, Home Decor, and more, featuring over 90 local artists. This fair also includes live entertainment, prize giveaways, lunch items from local restaurants, etc. This provides family entertainment and a wave of holiday spirit as well as a chance to get handmade gifts for loved ones.
Along with The Head West Marketplace and Handmade Holiday Crafts Fair, the Super Holiday Boutique Fair is held at the Hilton Concord Hotel, 1970 Diamond Blvd. Concord. This event is Dec. 8, from 11 a.m – 3 p.m. This is the 15th annual Super Holiday Boutique. The admission and parking is free for this event, the event offers an indoor setting shopping fair filled with handmade local gifts. A special guest Olaf will be at this event to meet and greet guests through the boutique. If you want a family friendly event to go to, to support local artists and handmade items this fair is exactly that.
The Winter Wonder Market Is Dec. 14, to Dec. 15, and is open from 11 a.m to 6 p.m. The whereabouts are South Hall, 435 S. Market St., San José. The event has free admission and is strict on allowing no outside food or beverages and will not let any pets into the event unless it is a service pet. Parking lots and garages are paid for in the neighborhood and street parking is free on Sundays only. This fair Features over 270 makers, artists, designers, bakers, culinary minds and creative small businesses. As well as a holiday kitten lounge by Mini Cat Town. Use this event as a chance to squeeze in your last minute holiday shopping and to treat yourself to something special.
The Makers Market Fair is an outdoor event at Broadway Plaza Street, Walnut Creek. This event is free and is open to kids and pets. This event is held Nov. 16, 11:00 a.m to 5:00 p.m. Free parking can be found in the South Locust Street Parking Garage. During this event you can enjoy food and drinks as well as live music and can find handmade jewelry, organic body, home goods, apparel, glass, holiday candles, local honey.
