   // Do you need something to do this winter? Grab your friends and family and check out Ruth Bancroft Garden’s Garden of D’lights this holiday season. If you enjoy gardens and want to stay local, this event is perfect for you.

   This special event located in Walnut Creek was created by The Ruth Bancroft Garden & Nursery. This holiday light event transforms the three-acre garden into a dazzling night-time display, illuminating the garden with colorful lights, lasers and art. It is a great event for a calm evening. Garden of D’Lights takes place from November 22, 2024 to January 11, 2025, and is a self-guided experience that people of all ages can enjoy. It is perfect for family and friends, and pets are welcome in the garden. 

   The gardens are open Wednesday through Sunday during the winter, and tickets for Garden of D’Lights are available from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Adult tickets are $29.00, youth tickets are $16.00, and children four years old and younger should have free admission. Members of The Ruth Bancroft Garden receive special discounts on tickets as well as other benefits. Tickets are on sale now. 

   Garden of D’Lights is an annual fundraising event that supports the Ruth Bancroft Garden’s mission. The Ruth Bancroft Garden is a non-profit, outdoor botanical garden and plant nursery that aims to “preserve, promote, and enhance Ruth Bancroft’s world-class collection of water-conserving plants displayed in her exceptionally designed garden for the education, inspiration, and enjoyment of the public.” The garden was founded in 1972 by Ruth Bancroft, a horticulturist and advocate for drought-tolerant landscaping. The garden offers a variety of over a thousand species of succulents, cacti, and other drought-resistant plants from around the world. Key features include landscape design and themed sections. They also host events and aim to educate others on the wonders of a dry garden and the plants that grow there.
