EDIT:We’re pretty sure this is an advertisement from Trader Joes, but we’re going to leave it up for posterity. Hopefully, we’ll be more resistant to weird sponsorships in the future.

Trader Joe’s Brazil Nut body oil has come back in stock for Spring 2024 after being sold out during Christmas-time, somehow. It’s supposedly a very limited item, so make sure to get it while it’s still in store. The bottle is a thick plastic or glass so it is dense enough to relieve the worry of having it break too easily. Lucky, it is available in a 4. oz bottle for $6.99, so you are getting twice as much as the original which came out in a gift set for 2. oz, even if it is utterly unnecessary. It seems that the Brazilian nut body oil could be a dupe for the Sol De Janeiro number 62 fragrance, which is a salted caramel and pistachio scent that seems to closely resemble Trader Joe’s oil. Due to the demand for this fragrance, Trader Joe’s has created a line of this scent consisting of a body scrub, body wash, and body butter. The texture is a relatively thin mixture rather than a thick oil that commonly leaves a sticky residue. After a quick look at the ingredients, it can be seen that the base is made up of Brazil nut, sunflower, olive, macadamia and jojoba oils, all known to be very hydrating for the skin. As an extra hydration boost, also added in are squalane and guarana extract, which has not been evaluated by the FDA for safety. This does not seem to have any notable effect on how your skin absorbs it, though it may leave behind a pleasant nutty sort of smell. Considering all of this information, Trader Joe’s Brazil Nut Body Oil is a product not worth its fame. Don’t buy it.
