// Las Lomas High School’s Spring Fling Week has come and gone, and students geared up for a week filled with fun activities and spirited dress-up days. From friendly competitions to themed dress-up days, these events promised excitement and bonding.

One of the highlights of the week was the lunchtime activities, where students gathered on the school grounds to enjoy various games and challenges. Corn hole and tug of war tournaments brought out the competitive spirit among classmates. Another crowd favorite is Friday’s pie-in-the-face tradition, where upperclassmen bravely volunteer to have pies thrown at their faces, all in the name of charity. The week also featured a “Fact or Cap” trivia game in nod to the cap dress day. In addition to all the classic lunch time activities, Las Lomas leadership organized music at lunch and continued the annual March Madness basketball games. These lunchtime activities proved to be extremely popular and competitive, letting students enjoy the precious week of Spring Fling.

In addition to the lunchtime activities, there were various after school events. In particular, Las Lomas leadership brought back a homecoming favorite, “Capture the Flag.” Upper classmen and lower classmen competed on school grounds in a classic capture the flag game. The upperclassmen, who were the winners, were promised points toward the Knights cup, which is a school-wide spirit competition between each grade. There was also a successful Walnut Creek Education Foundation fundraiser in Broadway plaza which raised a sizable amount of money that goes directly to improving Las Lomas. Leadership students volunteered for the fundraiser and urged pedestrians to either donate directly or eat or shop at WCEF sponsored locations.

In order to cap off the week, there was an action packed spring fling rally. The rally featured the senior boys powderpuff performance, a balloon popping competition, the march madness championship basketball game, and a lip syncing competition. The senior boys were rewarded with one last performance in front of the whole school as they were pronounced the winners on powerpuff night. The march madness basketball championship consisted of an exciting game between students and teachers. However, a relentless student team led by Dylan Devinney claimed victory in the end. All in all, spring fling week was a big success and truly brought the school together.
